Birthdays

I turned 22 last moth and had a blast hanging out with the family. Skye was really sweet and made sure I had a great time, like always. He went all out and got me a sweet camera (Canon XSI) and a huge lence so now I can get good pictures of Isaiah before he runs away. . . he hates pictures so I used to only get pictures of his back, but he can't hide anymore, this camera is way faster than him. :)

These are some pictures we took with the new camera.

Skye's mom also had a birthday last month so we all went up to her place, and had a blast hanging out with the whole family. she had the kids go on a treasure hunt she even drew maps and Isiah loved it especially the part where they had to dig in the dirt, that is all he wanted to do for the rest of the day, dig and play with worms he was really proud of himself when he found a worm and he started waiving it all over the place. (I wish I had a picture of that.) we had a hard time getting him away from the dirt. He is such a boy.

My little brother Dan turned 13 on the 25 of August. and Skye pushed his entire face in to the cake. It was hilarious.

Conference

We always enjoy watching conference but this time was so much better. We mounted the TV, hooked up the surround sound, and bought HDTV. Conference with surround sound, on HD, no kids jumping in front of the TV and on a rainy day. It doesn't get better than that. WE LOVE CONFERENCE WEEKEND !!

1 month

I can't believe it has already been a month since Tristan was born. Time goes by way to fast! He is getting so big, he has big chubby cheeks, I think he is about 10 or 11 pounds now. He looks just like Skye. He is such a good baby, he NEVER cries and he pretty much sleeps through the night we only wake up once during the night, but he doesn't cry he'll just make goat like noises, it's so cute. That's his way of telling me that he wants to eat and that he needs a new diaper. We love hanging out in the middle of the night, just the two of us, even though I am tired. It's fun to have some alone time. He is such a happy baby.
Isaiah is an amazing brother he is always making sure that Tristan is at his sight and if he is not he'll look for him. He wont get in the car until his brother is in there first and he is always helping me take care of Tristan. He is the best little helper and the most amazing brother. we are SO blessed to have them both in our lives.

Baby Tristan!!

Tristan Hughes was born August 19 2008 at 4:33pm he was 7lbs 4oz and 19 inches tall.
6 days before he was born we found out that he was breech meaning that his head was up under my ribs and he was feet down. he thought it would be fun to try and come out feet first. Dr. had me go in to the hospital to have an ECV (external cephalic version) which I had heard horror stories about so I was horrified to do it. well we went in and even though it was a bit painful it was not that bad at all and baby Tristan did a great job, his heart rate stayed strong through out the entire thing and no emergency c-section was needed. All they do is push on my tummy to turn the baby. The doctor did a great job and she was very careful. they only thing that sucked was being in the hospital for 4 hours and having to fast for almost 24 hours plus getting an IV

The doctors decided it would be a good idea to induce labor to make sure that he didn't try to turn again....just in case. so it was scheduled for the 19th even though we were exited and it was nice to know when we were going to have him, I was a bit sad that he wouldn't come when he wanted to and that we were choosing his birth date. Well my water broke at about 3:00am on the 19th so I'm guessing that he chose the 19th anyway. I got a phone call from the hospital at 6:00 am to let us know that they were ready for us to come in and have the baby. I was so nervous. we got up, got ready, made some phone calls and went to the hospital.

Labor was a bit tougher than expected but everything went well. I had a lot of support the whole time most of the family was there the whole time and they were all very patient.
Tristan was still head down and ready to come out.

He had the cord wrapped around his neck and scared us a little bit because he was so blue when he was born. He ended up with a bruised face so he looked purple for the first two days or so. but nothing serious happened just a few scares here and there. We are so happy to have him in our lives.

Isaiah is such an awesome brother he has never been jealous and he is always saying how much he loves his baby brother. He wants to hold him all the time and he'll make sure that Tristan is okay and every time he cries Isaiah will run to him and tell him "it's okay baby Tristan, don't cry" He'll hug him and kiss him. He was been so helpful and understanding of everything from day one. He also loves to tell people that baby Tristan is too cute. We are so proud of Isaiah he has grown up so much. He is such a loving brother and son.

"mommy, you help daddy"

Isaiah made a brave effort to help his daddy up but decided it would be easier if he just asked me to do it for him.... He did try ! ;)

summer fun

Here are some of the things that we have been doing this summer.

Camping in the back yard

We set up a tent in our back yard and watched "Finding Nemo" on the laptop. it was a blast, we made some smores, ate otter-pops and some other treats. Isaiah though we were hiding from a monster the whole time and that made things even funner.

We have also been having some fun with the sprinklers while playing soccer.

And ofcourse we are working on getting everything ready for the baby. he should be here any day now and I am really hoping it will be soon. Isaiah is all ready to be a big brother he really can't wait to meet him.

we set up the crib and bought a double stroller.

Fence

We finally got our fence and it has been the best investment ever!! We have some seriously noisy neighbors that can't seem to mind their own business so every time we went out in the back yard they would just invite them selves and the rest of the neighborhood, or they would just come out and watch us... it's very creepy. Anyway they were not happy about us getting a fence and they tried to give us a hard time about it. It was a big headache having to deal with them at all but they couldn't do anything.... it's a very long story. Anyway we are loving it. We can finally relax in our backyard with out having to deal with being stared at all the time by the neighbors. Isaiah can run all over the place and I don't have to worry as much about him going too far. and NO MORE dog poop. some people in the neighborhood seem to think that it's okay to let their dogs run free and poop wherever so it was always a pain having to clean it up so that we could mow the lawn. yuk! Anyway it is definitely worth it !!

4th of July

We didn't do much for the 4th of July this year but we still had a blast. We got some fireworks and invited Dan, Dennise and Demmi to come over. We played Wii for a little while then as soon as it was dark we set some chairs up in front of our house and had fun with the fireworks. Our neighbors back yard started on fire somehow, I think they left the grill on or something. anyway my sisters ran over to tell them and luckily nothing bad happened. The kids slept over at out house and Isaiah loved it. They watched some movies and stayed up all night, drinking chocolate milk.

Talking to the grasshopper

Isaiah actually caught the grasshopper all on his own and surprisingly it stayed on his finger long enough for him to tell it some story. He was way exited so I had a hard time understanding what he was saying.

Get that grasshopper

Isaiah really wanted to hold the grasshopper that Skye found and almost killed while mowing the lawn. Oh and just in case you are wondering what Skye was doing on the side. He was kicking the wall to kill all the spiders on the side of the house...yes, there were that many.
